My Origin Story:

How I ended up in "Finance"

I grew up in a small town outside of Pittsburgh on the border of cow farms and cobblestone streets, not far from County Line Road.  My parents encouraged me to pursue my talent for music and art. They also pushed me to excel in the academic classes I found less interesting.  In order to develop my appreciation for other people’s perspectives, they enrolled in me in extracurriculars to expose me to many people from different world cultures.  Looking back, I realize that without their stern support I may not have graduated top of my class or gone on to be the first of my family to earn a degree.

After graduation I moved to the city to work in marketing and advertising.  It came as a shock to my system when soon after entering what I thought would become my career, my Father passed away.  Instead of leaving being a trainwreck, he had put a plan in motion before I was born that provided for all of us even though he was taken unexpectedly.  I’ve come to learn that no one really thinks about how fragile our lives are until something tragic happens.  Dad's death shifted my focus to finance.  I had to understand how he provided for our lives to continue on without him.

I traded in my job for an entry level position at one of the largest brokerage firms in the world.  It gave me the opportunity to take a deep dive into all different types of financial products that exist and learn the business of money from a team of seasoned advisors.  They were grooming me to fill a position that may have come with a fancy title and a corner office.  But somewhere along the way I realized that in order to earn my position within their system, I would be selling products and services that I didn’t believe in.  I would have been expected to give people advice that I didn’t agree with.

Instead, I took the education and knowledge with me and focused on building my own risk management business.  As I continue to reinvest in my education, I’ve learned more complex strategies that limit exposure to volatility and provide consistent predictable gains.  It makes me incredibly happy to be positioned to serve each individual I meet without the pressure of a boss telling me how to advise them or what products I must recommend.  Now I have the freedom to share my years of experience with you.  Together, we can build a plan that protects and facilitates your lifestyle and goals.

People often ask for my opinion and advice on how to:

  • Protect against accidents, death, disability and debilitating illness

  • Provide a way for life and business to continue despite tragedy

  • Stabilize capital by eliminating loss and securing steady gains

  • Avoid giving away profits and minimize losses

When I'm not working, my favorite ways to spend time include:

  • Hiking and mountain biking through the beautiful scenic Tri-State Area

  • Drawing, Painting, Printmaking and Illustrating with various multimedia

  • Cooking, Baking and Grilling delicious meats and tasty vegetables

  • Supporting local performing artists and musicians

This career chose me.

Now I teach others.

Unfortunately, my Father passed away over a decade ago which was way before his time. Even in death, he thought of his family first and fulfilled his goals: paying off our family homestead, settling all of his debts including vehicles and credits cards. He even left behind enough to take care of his final expenses. He is my inspiration for serving your family now.

We Thank God everyday that he was prepared for the worst. Dad lived his life to the fullest, as if every day was his last. I didn't realize it at the time, but he taught me how to plan for the worst, even if it seems unnecessary.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of my Father fondly. How completely selfless his decision was to protect my Mother from losing everything; the house, the cars, etc. Everything was taken care of.

We know without question that he loved us more than we could have known at the time. Families you know will be torn apart this year by heart attack, cancer, stroke, overdose, diabetes, or other health issues.

For whomever you love most,

don't wait until it's too late.
